Closeboard Fencing
The customer approached us seeking professional advice and a high-quality solution for a listed cottage in Hadleigh, Suffolk. The existing waney lap panel and post fence was due for replacement.
One of the challenges of this project was the limited access, as the only entry point was through the small 1600s cottage. Additionally, we needed to find a fencing solution that would complement the property’s unique aesthetic and character.
We recommended a Timber Close Board fence as the best option. While the customer had initially considered concrete fencing, we felt it would not suit the environment of a historic property. We took great care to protect the customer’s carpet and furniture by using dust sheets, ensuring no mud or dirt was tracked through the building during installation. Both the tenant and landlord were extremely pleased with the outcome. As promised, we delivered a fence that not only restored the necessary privacy but also blended seamlessly with the cottage’s appearance.
At all times, we strive to provide tailored solutions that balance aesthetics with durability, ensuring the best outcome for each unique project.
